Welcome to ARCHIPELAGO - An art exhibition from Cameron Schmidt and friends.

Archipelago - a group of islands, but also: a distinct collection of separate parts. A built community from seemingly foreign sources. This body of work consists of unique interpretations of that theme. Experience your own take on Archipelago…

Island Painting Showpieces

For my canvas painted works, I wanted to focus on using the scenery as an actual character in the story of the piece. Each piece is an exploration of a different theme; love, death, and Miami.”

 Sculptural Collaborations

“Working with friends new and old, I was able to pull together some super unique pieces. I really enjoy coming up with a concept that meshes our aesthetics. Sometimes - it’s easier than others.”

Collaborations with: Peter Muller, Karma Glass, and Daniel Coyle (Each piece has a pendant that is removable and comes with high quality brown waxed cotton cord.)

Floating Grassy Chunks of Earth

“I wanted to combine my love of lettering and characters… suspended in mid-air.”

Global Wall Art Collaborations

“While working from different studios across the country, I was able to email designs, and develop concepts so that I could make artwork with artists from California, Pittsburgh, Barcelona, and Miami. I try not to take for granted how great staying connected is. Plus, the art we made is a mark left commemorating that moment in time.“

Collaborations with: SES_UNO, GEMS, Voorhees and Dr. Dax

Living Art for Plants at Home

“I am always interested in creating art that is not only neat to look at, but also functional. These pieces were created in collaboration with talented builders to execute the floating island theme in physical space.”

Collaborations with: Brad Bianchi and Carlton Schmidt

Collaborative Illustrations with Coyle

“Coyle and I work very well together on watercolor/illustration pieces. His eye-catching characters always combine well with my illustrative themes, and these pieces are no different!”

Cam Schmidt - Stone Planter Bot

“Made from scraps I had lying around, this cute lil’ guy is one of my favorites. Designed with a drain at the bottom, his basin is designed to hold a plant or succulent. As the foliage grows it will obscure Mr.Robot’s face. I like that.”

Stone Planter Bot - Epoxy Clay and Glass Sculpture with Functional Planter Bowl - $450

Voorhees Glass - Archipelago

“Voorhees was psyched with the concept and ran with it. These pieces are so satisfying to hold in your hand. Like a mini floating island trapped in glass.”

Each piece comes with a VRHS sticker pack, and the large piece comes with a custom Mrs.Voorhees “ocean” mat.

Cam Schmidt - Aqua Archipelago

Scooting along the bottom of the sea, a glowing cuttlefish reflects off everything near.

No one hides from the sentinel fish.”
